BIRDWISE Avian Health Care Advice - MA was started by
Cher Angelo of Boston MA in the 1990's. Ms Angelo is a
professional health care educator and counselor who has
worked with birds for many years, in fact over 50. She has
learned a great deal about all species of birds over the
years, and is a Certified Avian Specialist who chooses not
to breed birds, but to help existing birds in need. Cher has
had birds since she was a little child but it was later in life
when she got her first parrots, that she began reading all
the books she could get her hands on and at one point was
active in over a dozen avian lists online. Today Cher has
eleven birds as one fostered bird and one rescued bird
passed on in 2009. Ms Angelo has an extensive avian
library of texts, DVDs, CDs and book: She learned all she
could from the local avian vets, technicians and
behaviorists and then people started consulting her about
their birds. She has worked as a counselor and educator in
the avian field, writing booklets and articles that are rated
excellent by viewers. She has been a regular at the African
Ark avian publication until it went online a few years ago.
Her work can also be found at parrotchronicles.com, a
marvelous avian web site. This web site is a long time
coming as Cher has been busy helping birders in practice
and online nonstop for many years. It is an exciting
endeavor and is meant to be in conjunction to her web lists
at Yahoogroups.com, BIRDWISE Avian List, BIRDWIZE Avian
List (nutrition topics only), Lineolated Parakeets, etc. all at
yahoo.com.
We realize that the two names, BIRDWISE and BIRDWIZE
may cause some inadvertent confusion, however we can
explain: BIRDWISE as well as BIRDWIZE are email addy
names, but BIRDWISE is the name of the actual company.
We could not get an emai addy of BIRDWIISE so we took the
namm BIRDWIZE which is the Comcast email addy for her
avian groups. Hopefully this simplifies any confusion...if
you wan tot visit the web site use BIRDWIZE with a Z...if
you want to write Cher at her avian email addy write to
BIRDWIZE@comcast.net but if you want to join her regular
avian list then look for BIRDWiSE at Yahoo
Groups...BIRDWIZE is a nutrition list that members can join
by invitation only while BIRDWISE is open as long as you
provide a reason why you would like to join us.

veterinary entity however Cher does work with the board
certified avian vets and other experts she knows in order to
provide the utmost help whether it be pre purchase
counseling, or the other areas of bird care that she is
involved in eg purchases, re-homeing, fostering, behavior,
environment, nutrition, socialization, referrals to vets or
other avian providers eg breeders etc. Cher also makes bird
products such as custom leather perch covers for birds with
bumblefoot, or those who just want comfy, washable perch
covers! An additional service offered even on the avian
groups is revamping of recipes to make them

Online our groups are friendly and we welcome new
members; some folks have been with the list since its
inception, others are new; all are avid birders but have
great senses of humor. The lists are a grate source of
information and a wonderful place to share stories about
your birds etc. Be careful to join groups that are friendly
